Snowflake is a great data warehouse, but it's a place to put data, not a customer data platform. Getting value from it means building pipelines, identity matching, audiences and ad syncs yourself. dealerMe gives you those on day one, on the website it already runs.

## Build vs. buy

The table compares what you get out of the box. With Snowflake, every row is something your team builds and maintains. That isn't a knock on Snowflake. It's a general-purpose warehouse, not a dealership product.

To turn a warehouse into a working dealership CDP, you'd typically need:

- **Data pipelines** to load your DMS, CRM, service and website data, plus someone to fix them when a vendor changes its export.
- **Website tracking** to capture shopper behavior, because a warehouse doesn't see who's browsing your VDPs.
- **Identity resolution** to tie anonymous visitors, leads and sold customers into one person.
- **Modeling and segmentation** in SQL or a BI tool before anyone in sales or marketing can use the data.
- **Reverse ETL** to push audiences back out to Google, Meta and your CRM.
- **Engineers or a data agency** to own all of it, plus warehouse compute costs that scale with usage.

## When Snowflake makes sense

If you're a large dealer group with an in-house data team and reporting needs well beyond marketing, such as group-wide finance, F&I or fixed-ops analytics, a warehouse can be the right foundation. If your goal is to know your shoppers and put that data to work in your marketing, dealerMe gets you there without the build.
